Good Health Just Got Easier to Swallow

Conquering that Sweet Tooth

The munchies have been a big problem for my husband. He especially loves chocolate. There has been a few times where he has resorted to munching on my semi-sweet chocolate baking chips when he stays up late working and can’t find any other sugary snack to satisfy his midnight cravings.

Some kids eat dirt, pregnant women crave all sorts of amusing things, my husband devours my baking chips, and cows or horses chew on fences or barn doors. They all have the munchies, but in animals it’s called Pica. Before the cows eat their way through the barn door, the farmer supplements their diet with minerals and voila!...Problem solved. Pica is actually a mineral deficiency. If farmers can curb a cow’s craving by simply giving it supplements then surely I can curb my husband’s cravings with supplements too. And while I’m at it, my own cravings for salty things are in need of consideration also.

We both started taking the 90 essential nutrients. It’s very simple really. One bottle of Ultimate Classic or Tangy Tangerine (depending on what your taste buds prefer), and some EFA’s (essential fatty acids) is all you need to complete the “mighty 90”. The Classic and Tangy are a highly bio-available liquid packed full of vitamins, plant derived colloidal minerals, and amino acids. It’s safe, even for children, and my husband stopped munching on the barn door...errr...I mean my baking chips.

It's Contagious!

As a mom I am always struggling to get my kids to eat healthy. Recently my life has become much easier (at least in that respect). My husband has decided to conquer his sweet tooth and conscientiously eat healthier. The side effects have been wonderful for the whole family. Now that my husband is wholeheartedly on board on this "mission", I've been having so much fun playing around with recipes - substituting/adding things, and hiding things, that our kids aren't crazy about, in the meals. I have to admit that it's just too fun to puree some chick peas in the homemade tomato soup and no one be any wiser.

At dinner yesterday Lena, my 3 year old, discussed with her sister Thea (5) how she didn't like her broccoli. Her sister Thea eagerly said: "I'll take it!" "You like broccoli?!" I was just as shocked to hear that my five year old all of the sudden liked broccoli, but I almost couldn't believe my eyes when my three year old then started to eat hers. What was going on? This was too good to be true! Guess there is strength in numbers. "If big sis can eat it, then so can I."

You could almost conclude that eating habits, good or bad, are indeed contagious. My husband's positive attitude about the new menu was rubbing off on the kids and they were encouraging each other to give everything a try. Even at the grocery store my son (almost 7) was picking out food that daddy might like because it's healthy. My kids are munching on veggies and hummus, and I haven't heard a request for a "treat" in a long time.

How is my husband conquering his sweet tooth? I'll get into that next time.

Youngevity is taking over my life!!!

It started out quite innocent really. My husband came home one day and said: "Gel," (he's one of a few people that get away with calling me that) "I know what you're going to say, but I really want to try these supplements I've been hearing about." "To eat healthier is what you need," I preached once again.

In my defense, I was not completely wrong. He did need to eat healthier. But I was shocked and thrilled to see my husband's blood pressure come down, his cholesterol take a dive, and his joint pain virtually disappear after only three months on Youngevity products.

The rest, as they say, is history. Before I knew it I was signing up my family members, and then some friends, and now I am receiving phone calls from people I don't even know who have some kind of ailment that conventional doctors have not been able to help them with or simply want to stay healthy . Without intending it, Youngevity has taken over my life! I find myself listening to company conference calls (when the kids are quiet enough for me to hear, that is), researching in books or on line, and placing/taking orders on the phone. Even my kids have been quoting Dr Joel D. Wallach (the founder of Youngevity) since I have subjected them to many of his lectures on CD.

On this blog I intend to give my two cents worth on what I have learned so far, what it takes to stay healthy, the products I've tried, how they have helped my family and other people I know personally, and anything that I come across which may be beneficial in helping others to live younger longer.

Hope you come back to visit again soon to see what new information I have posted.
